Does anyone know how I can check a certain field sent through an asp page to see if the number matchs in the corresponding database?

any help would be great

Just to be clear, do you mean a form field? Assuming this is so:

Is it mandatory for it to match the database (in which case you can set up a list box on the form).

Another way I've dealt with this kind of requirement is like this:

<form name=&quot;frmUser&quot; method=&quot;post&quot; action=&quot;Nextpage.asp&quot; >

With a server-side script on Nextpage, you can handle the match/no match options at more leisure and then give error messages, redirect the user etc as required.

HTH, Linnet

Thanks Linnet,

Yes I send the values through a normal HTMl form (form fields), but that's not what I have a problem with. It's after I have actually done that, I have no idea of how the server side script would be written. I guess it would be some variation on a results page?
Any suggestions or tutorials would be very helpful.

Thanks
