Vaio Resolution

Hi,

i have a new sony vaio notebook. My freind has a slightly lower model, but his resolution is higher. would a new driver for either the graphics card, or the monitor, help increase my res?

Which model is it, what resolution is it running at, and what size is the screen?
Normally, laptops with 15" screens run at 1024x768, and at 1280x1024 with 17" screens.

its a 16.1 inch, running at 1280x1024. the previous model runs higher than this. its a PCG-GRT896HP

I do not know which model your friend has, but 1280x1024 is the max resolution for your model:

And changing drivers will not increase it.

Hi birney29 , I want to know if (except for the higher resolution of the older type) is any other difference in screen.
Has the 896hp similar image quality as the older one in the same resolution? (ex. 1024x768).
