I want to setup a message to callers that have dialed a non-working number at my company. I've set VNR in LD15 NET_DATA to "YES". For CTVN in INT_DATA I've set it as OVF OVF OVF RAN. Now it wants RAN route. This is where I get lost. I want to point the call to my CallPilot where I have setup an annoucement service using Application Builder.

Any help would be great.

Direct from the book
Calls that cannot be completed because of call restrictions or dialing
irregularities can be routed to a Recorded Announcement (RAN), to the
attendant, or to hear overflow, or busy tone.
When Intercept to RAN is desired, a recording device is required. A Recorded
Announcement (RAN) route and at least one trunk must be defined

do you have a miran card?

if not your going to need an analog trunk with a recorder

i can't think of a way to work around so that a cp recording is used.. short of making all vacant numbers a vsdn pointed to the ann service

Thanks John,
I don't have a MIRAN card. What is VSDN?

Can you post NET_Data

you said you have VNR turned on - do you have a RLI assigned?

You could setup the RLI with LTER=yes and a DMI that points to your CallPilot.

Problem then will be call pilot will answer - However DN xxxx does not subscribe to this service.

Some people have setup a IDC table with all vacant numbers pointing to a specific number assigned for an vacant number message. This however means that everytime you assign a new number or remove a number from service you have to also make changes in IDC table.

if you have call pilot, you can make a mailbox that does not accept messages, then direct them to that extension in the IDC table.

and that would work for external callers.. but to add a did you would need to remove the number from the idc table..

to make the same thing work internal and external, maxp 1 acd ncfw to the vsdn and the idc..

the idc removes the original dialed dn so you would not need a vsdn for each vacant

The MIRAN card is best. However as johnpoole has said if there are not too many "unused" numbers you can build an unused number application in application builder that plays message twice and hangs up. The problem is that then you must put a Sevice Directory Number for each unused number with the Unused number as the application. You must also put an acd to the VM in PBX....lot of work if you have a lot of numbers...you might use it as a temporarary solution when someone leaves, then eventually remove them from SDN and ACD. Still a lot of work maintaining.
