I'm having trouble getting a networked HP4000n to do print jobs from my UNIX box. I have no trouble printing to a 450N and I can ping the 4000n. The 4000n is accepting jobs from other sources. I've duplicated the command strings and lpstat -t indicates that the printer is there and accepting jobs. When I send a job, it appears to go as usual but the printer does not respond and the job is not left in queue. Is there a difference in the command string needed to run to the 4000n or have I not set something up correctly in the Admin GUI. As far as I can tell, both printers are set up the same way. Thanks [sig][/sig]

check the /etc/hosts to see if your printer is there. if not add ip address 1st then the printer name 1 tab to right [sig]<p>Lee Correa<br><a href=mailto:corcom@zianet.com>corcom@zianet.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br> [/sig]

OK, I got the printer to print, but I had to set it up in the HP network printer config given the model name &quot;scsilaser&quot;. Now the problem is I can't get it to print landscape, only portrait. I've used the command string &quot;ls -d(name) -s -oland&quot; as I did with the 4050n but the 4000n won't print in landscape. FYI- I didn't have to set the 4050n up in the HP networked printer setup to get it to work. I have separate command strings in my application to run it either portrait or landscape. Thanks [sig][/sig]

Give this a try - no promises, but ...
