We are scheduled to move to V2R5 in a week on our development box. Today I got an email about needing to be on a different ODBC driver version for queryman, yesterday, I got another email on more reserved words that weren't reserved before.

I tried looking on the teradata website for a list of changes to be concerned with but was unable to locate anything helpful in the library. Any ideas of were to find such a list?

Thanks

There is some info on reserved words in the V2R5 documentation (Release Summary manual) but I guess you've already looked here.

I tend to find there are always 'surprises' when upgrading which don't appear to be fully documented, or at least not that easy to find.

I guess that is what test systems and allowing plenty of time to 'test' major RDBMS upgrades is for.

The following are just three 'surprises' that I've come across recently regarding V2R5 (we're not on it yet but I'm making my own list of issues in preparation).

*ASF2 is not a back up/recovery option under V2R5.

*The utilities should be upgraded prior to the RDBMS upgrade - ARCMAIN I'm told is a must but I'm not sure of the requirement for the load utilities.

*Some changes have been made to the DBC RESUSAGE system tables which may require amendments to any housekeeping scripts you have written against these tables.

My suggestion would be to talk to your NCR contacts about the requirements for/known issues of upgrading to V2R5 since they will be best placed to advise.

Good luck in your search!

Martin
