v$rollstat.status is equal to FULL . What does that mean ?

On running

ALTER ROLLBACK SEGMENT r02 ONLINE

the field changed to online.

Anybody know why this could happen?

thanks.

A status of full means that the rollback segment has reached its maximum number of extents. It remains online, but the full status prevents any new transactions from getting assigned to this rollback segment.

Taking the rollback segment offline and then putting it back online should clear the full status. That would cause all active transactions in the rollback segment to be rolled back.

On the other hand, I don't think just altering the rollback segment online would have any effect, since it's online to begin with. I suppose I could be wrong, but I suspect that one or more transactions just happened to complete while you were doing the alter. That would also clear the full status, since the completed transactions would no longer need their rollback segment allocations.
