Hi. I looked back through the last 22 posts and did not find this topic covered. I admit that I didn't scan the entire logged entries, so I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked & answered.

A few weeks ago I broke my leg and was in the hospital for 7 days. During that time my server became overloaded with messages. My administrator was forced to download my messages from the server and zip them into 1 huge file. He sent me the file and I used a splitter to cut it into smaller pieces. However, every piece of the file is encoded. I was told to get a UUDecoder from download.com to translate the data into readable form. However, I have no idea how to use the decoder to do this. Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance either way.

If the file was split, did you 'unsplit' it to make it one big file again?

Then you should just unzip the one large file.

If the Admin put a zip password on it, ask them for the password.

Many thanks for replying--I truly appreciate it.

My problem isn't with the file itself per say, but with the format that it's in. Like I said, it's unreadable--it's all random letters, etc. I've been told that a UUDecoder would translate the text, but the UUDecoder I downloaded from download.com has no real instructions with it--I don't understand how to use it. Do you have any experience with UUDecoders?
