Hi All,

We recently started using our windows dialler to make outbound calls in our call centre. We are using Lan Cte Client on the PC's have also installed all scripts patches for Tapi. The dialler worked fine when initially installed but all of a sudden some of the PC's couldn't connect to the BCM via dialler giving the error "The pre-selected line no longer exists" the software seems to be highly temperamental.....any ideas?

Sounds like a possible problem with the VoIP link.
I have gotten this error message from VoIP phones, but when I pressed even my intercom button's.
I rebooted the BCM and the problem cleared.

(I was receiving calls on the VoIP station but could not make calls or initiate system features)

Hi thanx for replying!

Everything else on our BCM seems to be running fine (touchwood). I just can't seem to get the TAPi function working properly. As far as I'm concerned when I assign a PC name to a DN in the BCM configuration and have Lan CTE installed on the client both (BCM and PC) should be taling to each other. This should then show as DNname-DN Number in the >edit>options menu of the windows XP integrated dialer? Which I can't see any more and all I see is "Preselected line no longer exists" which makes me think that somehow the TAPi link b/w BCM and PC is broken?

Right. What option do/did you have selected for "Line Used for: phone calls"? H323?
If so, and it cannot find the line it would indicate a problem in the VoIP link. Even though you may not be setting up a VoIP call, it seems that the dialing would be set up that way.

I am not an expert on VoIP by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems to make sense that if there is a problem with the H323 (VoIP) then the line could not be found, (as well as features supported by H323).

All I can tell you is that when I had problems very similar to yours, the fine people here told me that i should reboot, which I did, and my VoIP started working again.

Of course, if you are not using H323 to dial...

Then again I could be all hosed...

When the system was working we had "DN NAME - DN Number" e.g. "John- 233" selected instead of H323. When the system goes down it says "Pre-selected line no longer exists" and I lose the option to select "John - 233" from the frop down list....!!!
The BCM helpline is busy...!!! since yesterday....!!!
