Using variable contents as a variable

How can I use the contents of a variable as a variable name? I think I can but can't think of the right syntax.


IE:
variable var1 has the name of a field I want to update (CEMarkDatemessage) in it

Can I do this by using var1 somehow?

CEMarkdateMessage = "Date invalid reenter!"
