Hi,

I have to build some reports using reportnet and query studio. the reports should be similar to the old report system, an asp webbased application. In this application we have a value promt (dropdown list) and five field sets. With the value promt I can choose a query (each query produces a different report) The field sets working as filters for the choosen query.

So my question now is, I know how I can use value prompts to filter a query, but how can I use those to make a selection of query's? found no help in the dokumentation up to now. Do you have any hint for me? Is it possible to solve this just by using report studio and the framework manager? or do I need the sdk componente in order to code a feature like this myself?

Thanks...

You could add to your 5 queries another filter so that if this is not the selected query you have 2 = 1 then this query is very quickly run.

sorry, but I guess you've misunderstood me.

In the DDL I have a selection of query's. each query generates a differnt report, depnding on which query I choose in the ddl.
the 5 textfields are only for additional filter options at each query.

I asked myself, if I can use the DDL like this... to choose between different reports

Or, Conditional Layouts. (I think) that may save you from executing every query every time.

kingcrab.. just out of curiosity... why do you avoid conditional blocks? have you found that they don't work well or something?
