Hi
I'm trying to use a USR sportster external modem on a Mac. The Mac won't detect the modem. The modem works fine on PC's. I've been to USR's site but can't find any useful information about this there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Serial or USB?

if serial are you using a "hardware detect" modem cable? (might be called High speed)

Printer cables do not work.

What version of Mac OS?

Did you find your modem in the modem control panel?

What software does not detect it? I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Hi
The cable connections between the modem and the computer use the same plugs as a printer as far as I can see. The cable I have fits, but I didn't specify or check that it was a modem cable when I got it. So maybe I need to find a proper modem cable? Do they have any kind of special name or spec?
Many thanks

Man - Many thanks - I'll get a proper cable and let you know how it works out
