*******First things First******* “I hate basic”

My customer has a Avaya I.P. Office V2 500 running 11.04 and they want two A/A’s the first one triggers the second A/A. This is being done because of the overwhelming number of telemarking calls they receive. The problem is the ring delay (found under Trunks—> Advanced setup-> Channel setup) has NO effect on the ring delay for the second A/A.

BTW-this works great in Essential w/o any problems and I can control ring counts on any A/A. It is also very effective in keeping telemarketers off the phones, because most of the systems they use can’t dial the extra digit(s).[/u]

First A/A
Thanks for calling ABC Company, to complete your call, please press XX. Call is then transferred to A/A #2 without ringing

Second A/A
Recorded in the menu section using 7891 (required)->pointing to another location from #1 is useless as the incoming caller will hear nothing.

So in closing; does anyone how to get the phones to ring 4 times before the second A/A answers.

Not possible in basic mode. When you transfer from one auto attendant to another it will play the menu options (unless you have night service activated or outside the time) and will immediately play the greeting. There is no way to delay the second auto attendant in basic mode. Upgrade to standard mode if you want this functionality.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

If they can't afford the upgrade then they can live without the functionality. It really is that simple. Basic mode handcuffs programming and is really meant for just the very basic(see what I see there) of systems. Anything fancy needs Standard mode. I am not preaching to you just venting in general I hate when customers want things like this but can't/won't pay for it.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
