Dear Friends, Hello

I have a new PC (Pentium ) with graphic card of type SiS 4MB-Ram. I installed the solaris 7/x86 on it, but it could not detect and work with its graphic card, and I set it to standard VGA(640x480x16).
How Can I Introduce my graphic card (SiS 630/730) to Solaris-7? Am I need to a patch?

Any comment will be appreciated.
Thanks

Solaris 7 installation CD will not contain the SIS 630/670 drivers.. THat means Solaris 7 does not support SiS 630/670 card..

So u need to get those from the vendor and add these drivers to get ur GUI on Solaris..

Another way out could be that checkout if the newer releases of Solaris 7 installation CD's.. MAy be those contain SiS drivers.. I am not sure about this.. just check out..

All the best..

Hi Butterfly123
How can I check for support of Sis630 in new Solaris7 media? What Url on I must refer to?
Although, I think the drivers is on the installation diskette not CD.Isn't it ?

Thanks

Well, even i am not aware of the exact link where you can checkout whether there is sis 670 support provided in newer release of solaris 7 media.

U can contact Sun Support for this purpose..

Well, U can ask for Solaris 7 driver disk from the SIS vendor. MAy be he will provide u!

Try to get S3 Verge or Cirrus Logic card ( Not AGP ) .They work great in solaris x86.
