Unable to dial out of switch using STE (Secure Terminal Eqipment) Switched phone out to tone commander and it worked. Anyone have any idea what I am talking about, if so any suggestions

If you are using ISDN, make sure you are using the correct card (ST or U configuration) and that your cable is plugged into the ISDN port and the STE is set to ISDN. If you are using PSTN, make sure the cable is plugged into the PSTN port and the STE is set to PSTN.

what is the card type that should be used in an option 11, part number would be good. Also I believe the STE dials good locally but when you go 9+ to grab a trunk it fails. We have looked at all settings on both switch and STE but still no good.

More info about it. Dial 9 to grab an outside trunk and the the 10 digit number and it returns a fast busy, but when you dial locally within office code last 4 digits it works. Replace STe with a Tone Commander as an ISDN set and you can dial 9+ numbers fine. Seems like it is just with the STE.

I have an Option 61C and am using SILC cards (no need for NT-1s). I'm not sure if the parts for the Opt 11 are the same, but I have NT6D70AA rls 15 installed. I have over 70 STEs installed. Here is how I have them programmed in LD 27.

TYPE DSL
DSL 12 0 0 0

I build my TSP's for my DSL's like this:

TYPE TSP
DSL 12 0 0 0
USID 1
MPHC NO

MCAL 4

I don't know if that will help, but, if you have another STE you could try that as well. Might want your COMSEC person update your STE software to ver 2.5 while you are at it.

Do you have BRi trunks for your STE? If not, set it up as regular analog and it should work then just like the STU.
