Using Sco partition from DOS&Windows98

Dear friends, Hello

I want to use the Sco-Unix hard disk partition from within the Microsoft Win98. That means booting by Win98 and then use the Unix partition as one of regular c: or d: in windows98.
Does any one know any way to do so?

Hi

I may have mis-understood your question, but I've been able to access SCO OpenServer and OpenUnix partitions from Windows98 using VisionFS and Samba. They make the Unix server appear to be another Windows box for file/print sharing.

My question means:
I have only one PC with only ONE hard disk.This hard disk have 2 partiotion, one for DOS/Windows98 and one for Sco-Unix5.0.5 .
My question is: When I boot the PC by Win98 how can I work on Sco-Unix partition on the same hard disk, the same as Win98 native partition? For example when I open My-Computer I want to be able to see the root filesystem of that Sco-Unix partition the same as C: in it.

Can I by any means?

You have a good footprint note on your notes.
I saw such utility for Linux filesystems in some sites in Internet, usually with source codes.And I hope such utility or better can be found some where.I can remember location of those I found if any one wants them.
And I think that even if no one have since now developed such tool, it can be done as a device driver in Win98.

I'm new to Unix, so I'm not the best person to respond to this, but the SCO OpenServer Operating System User Guide manual discusses accessing DOS partitions from within Unix, so you can copy files from one to the other. It then mentions using Merge to run DOS applications with access to the Unix partitions.

you could get vmware and mount the partition
this would allow you to have both unix and win98 running at once. install networking in vmware and roberts your relative.

it is a virtual pc that runs on either windows or unix (i think)

definately runs on windows.

i have winxp and i run redhat 7.3 as a virtual server
from another partition.

i think it runs just about any "guest" os. i have only tried redhat though.

I need a free direct and simple solution , means using my WIN98 FAR32 partition when I booted by SCO-UNIX on same machin and not with help of another machin.
The VmWare emulates the Win98 under UNIX, that is extra work, and probably problems.
Too, the VMWARE is not free.
