Hello. I am new to Legato and need to figure out how to recover files from the command prompt. Running NW6.2 on W2K SP2 - I can use the Networker User GUI to do normal and redirected restores, but want to learn how to use the RECOVER command.

I have downloaded the command reference guide, and i get errors when i try to use it.

For example, in trying to run a simple restore from one of my clients, I open up a command prompt and type in the following:

D:\>recover D:\"filename"
The type of the file system is NTFS.

Press ENTER to begin recovery of the file on drive D:

When I press enter, I get the following message:
Cannot lock the drive. The volume is still in use.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thank you very much.

For starters, you need to use the correct recover command. The syntax returned to you from above is from the recover command built into Windows, not NetWorker. You'll need to use the full path to the NetWorker recover command. If you are not sure where it is located, use your search command. In my case, (default I think) it would be
C:\Program Files\nsr\bin

Cheers

Oh, duh.

Yes, that did work. The command was in the bin directory. Once I navigated to the correct path, it worked. Thanks for your help!
