We were using a simple Exchange 2K server with OWA without any problems. We now need to have a second server at a new remote site and still have to use OWA.

After setting up the second server which presents itself as a 'member' in Exchange Admin since all the work is done from the first server, the OWA asks for two disctinct logins. Once on the fisrt server and second on the other server if the mailbox is on the 2nd server.

How can the first server authenticate the user, check if the mailbox is on this server or the second on, and if so, pass the authentication info to the latter ???

Hope my description is understandable.

Thanx for your help.

Being in front of the pack, does not mean you are not part of it.

Okay,

Either no one knows what I am talking about, or no one knows how to do this. Still, I repost this another way.

I use to access my mail server (server 1 which has 90% of the mailboxes) with OWA. Works well.

I now have another server (server 2) which has the other 10% of the mailboxes.

When accessing the logon windows pops up and if the mailbox is on server 1, the mailbox opens well. If the mailbox is on server 2, OWA asks for yet another authentication. It still gets the mailbox open allright, but with twice the user's input.

I'd like to have only one authentication.

I heard of front-end, back-end configs, but also that I cannot have any mailbox on the front-end server (server 1). Am I correct in that assumption ?

Hope this clears this issue up, and someone can giva a hand.
