I have a query for a report that takes totals from 8 different tables. the tables have been changed to run by a Month/Year parameter in MM/YY format.

So now when i run the query its going to ask me 8 times to enter the same MM/YY (once for each total)

Is there a way I can just enter the parm once and have it carry to all fields in the query?

Thx for any light you give!

Kathy

It is best to use a form for the date and set the criteria to:
Forms!frmDates!ReportDate
Or such like.

Make a parameter table with one field to enter the date, then use this table in each query selecting date field equal to parameter date field.

Thanks for the tips:

Questions:

If i use a form does it have to be based on a table? Will the date info just stay in a text box field that i added?

if i use the table i have the sme question. How do i make it so that just the latest entry in the date control? i don't want the table to keep adding dates and getting bigger and bigger.

With a form, the date will stay there until you close the form, you do not need to base it on a table but there is no reason why you should not combine the two ideas. If you do, set the form properties Allow Additions to No then the date(s) table will only have one record, which can be edited. Note that a form can be kept open, but invisible, and used until the application is closed.
