using non-supported printers

I've just switched over to using laser printer(a lot less hassle and a lot better), however I need to now how to the the printer up and running.
The printer is a samsung ml 4500 (pararell).
If i select a hp driver, the printer seems to communicate with the system. The system(ultra 10) seems to send data to the printer because the data led blinks. But that is all it does.

Any help appriciated

Nope it does not support postscript or any other PDLs (page description languages) .
Is there any other way?
