We are trying to set up a key on our 5340 to access a webpage that the potential customer is currently accessing with their Cisco 7960. Does anyone have any experience setting this up on a 5340?

I've downloaded a trial version of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and I have the Mitel HTML toolkit. I am able to upload the pre-configured templates. I just don't know how to create my own for just this application (web page).

Thanks,
Chad

I don't think you need to use the HTML toolkit.

The HTML toolkit is used to change the standard phone interface to a configurable one.

The 5340 can be programmed with a key appearace of a URL and the settings page has an option to enable URL access.

Admittedly, I have not used this but it seems worth investigating.

Thanks for the reply. When you say settings page do you mean the phone or the 3300? Where exactly would this be?

Thanks again,
Chad

Okay, I found it in the phone settings. We have tested this. We set up a url that is working on a Cisco phone on a key on the 5340 and enabled the go to url option. When I press the button, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

The settings page is accessed via the Blue key on the 53XX set. Or if your site is pre-rel 8.0 the Blue key IS the settings page.

Yes, I found the settings page. Everything was set correctly . Sorry I didn't have the phone when I replied earlier.

After reading your instruction, I went to our lab and checked everything. We had it set as you suggested but we still cannot get the url key to work. It does nothing when you press it. Any suggestions?

Thanks

You will need to install PC Companion software on the PC/Laptop that's associated with the phone. I have it here and it works fine. Pushing a button on the phone opens up the assigned URL on the PC/Laptop.

If the client has YA, they may need to set the load order to load PC Companion first and YA second otherwise PC Companion doesn't load.

PC Companion will need to know the IP Address of the phone and the user's password, (which likely you haven't set up yet as until now you haven't needed it)

How would I set this up in an environment where every phone the customer has will need to access the url? There will be approximatley 130 phones.

OK. I think I understand where you're headed. One more thing. They currently have Cisco 7960s and I was told that they access the page through the phone, not through the pc. Thanks.
