using magnetic lasso while zoomed in on image

Hi

This maybe a silly question but it's driving me nuts.

I'm using magnetic lasso to make a selection and i'm zoomed in on the image, to get a good selection, so only about 1/8 of the total image is visible on screen.

I start selecting using the tool but when i get near the edge of my visible screen i can't seem to move the image in the windows to view more.

so far I've been dragging the lasso tool off the image which moves it but adds loads of selection points on which i have to go back and delete to the last good point.

There must be a proper way to do this.

When you get close to the bottom of the image, press and hold down the space bar. This give temporary control to the hand tool. Move your image up, then release the space bar. Your lassoo will resume where you left off.
