Option 81C at a Federal Hospital where we're installing a Shoretel Call Center. Presently we dial 9 xxx-xxxx for local calls, 9, 1,toll-free#, xxx-xxxx for toll-free calls and 8, xxx,xxx-xxxx (no 1) for FTS LD calls.

We are using the CallBack feature for our Call Center queues. The Shoretel is only going to insert one Trunk Access code. Plus, I've been wanting to do this since I got here.

How do I reprogram the switch to accomplish, dialing "9" for everything? Plus, I'll get a 1000 new #'s (8000-8999)!

Any help appreciated!

You'll want to find out what "8" is. I assume it's AC2. Then LD90 REQ PRT FEAT NET TRANS AC2 TYPE ALL

Now you have what BARS 8 does.

After that, you might be able to just move all those NET numbers to AC1

Thanks GH!

It's apparently every NPA, all with
RLI 1
SDRR none
ITEI none

If I take a sample NPA, what programming would I do for a sample test?

First I'd find out of there are duplicate NPAs in AC1, then find out what the difference in the RLI is when it is processing an NPA from AC1 vs. and NPA from AC2

Long story short, OUT one of the NPAs in AC2 and NEW it in AC1.

Okay GH, it appears all the NPAs are duplicated in AC1. AC1 uses RLI 6, and AC2 uses RLI 1:

RLI 1 RLI 6
ENTR 0
LTER No
Rout 50 2
TOD all on
VNS No
CNV No
EXP No
FRL 4 1
DMI 0 1
FCI 0
FSNI 0
SBOC NRR
IDBB DBA
IOHQ No
OHQ No
CBQ Yes
ISET 1
NALT 1 5
MFRL 0 1
OVLL 0

If same, no entry.

In that case, you should be able to dial everything from "Dial 9" already - as we speak. However, you probably "prefer" to use the FTS network for certain calls.

So the question becomes "Who decides when to use the FTS lines". And do they decide right all the time?

Technically, you can decide that in programming, but it might mean figuring out what specific numbers (many?) should be FTS and what numbers should be the traditional public network.

You may want to rebuild/convert NPAs that contain FTS destinations, into SPNs. Then in the SPN, use ARRN, like this example: thread798-1535734

You are taking on a big, but fun project, so we are going to be taking small steps in this thread I think.
