If you use the -L switch with the "save" comand on a mapped network directory which client index will the saveset show up in?

For example, you have a NetWorker server and a client server. The client server's C: drive is mapped as E: on the NetWorker server.

If you issue a "save" command on the E: drive with the -L switch from the NetWorker server, which client index will have the saveset, the NetWorker server's or the client's?

Thanks.

Hi Ken,

the information will be written to your NetWorker servers index.

A better way, if possible for you, is to use "UNC" naming for the mapped network drives, like:
\\<remote computer>\<share name> ; for example:
\\mars\C$

Thus if you map another drive to E: and your former drive to F: , it does not matter.

Best regards,
Manfred
