using .htaccess to redirect dynamically created urls

need to do the following...
how to use .htaccess redirecting old dynamic links to new dynamic links?

You can place rewrite rules into .htaccess. Check the FAQs for a mod_rewrite tutorial.
 
Will this also work if they should happen to mistype something and try to access a file that never was there. For instance if there was a file foo.html and they type foo.hltm or ofo.html?

My objective here is to make sure they as long as they have the correct domain typed in they will not get a generic Microsoft Error saying there is no such site.
 
Everyone can ignore my previous post... I'm getting used to navigating these forums and wound up in the wrong one...
