Is it possible to use the Group and Outline funcitonality on a protected spreadsheet? We have a spreadhseet that needs to be protected and we want to add this functionality but I recieve an error that "You cannot use this command on a protected sheet. ect." Is there a way around this without unprotecting the sheet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Sam

Try developing a macro that unprotects the sheet, puts in the outlining, and then reprotects the sheet.

Thanks Frank,
Wouldn't that macro have to unprotect and re-protect every time the user expands or collapses the data? Not being very astute with VBA, I have no idea how I would do it.
