Our CM supplier are suggesting using PIX firewalls instead of our existing Nokia firewalls. Does anyone have experince using Nokia`s are there any issues ?

thanks

Not sure, but a big thing is the H323 fixups and skinny fixups, they imbed IP information into the packet that needs to be "modified, or evaluated"

If the Nokia/Checkpoint can do that, then you shoudl be good
check out forum.cisco.com and search on there..

I have looked into using a Checkpoint Firewall instead of a Pix. In theory I cannot see any reason why this will not work.

Checkpoint does support H.323 (if you are using it) not sure about the Nokia.

You must offload all media streams from your cluster. i.e. conferencing and MoH.

There is a list of ports that that the firewalls should be configured to allow through in the SRND CCM3.3 document.

I will let you know in a couple of weeks if it's successful.

I too will be trying to push CM through a checkpoint firewall aswell (NG 3), i'll let know now what happens next week

Your CM supplier sales cisco product, keep that in mind. Why not push another cisco product your way.

Stay cool; it’s not over yet!
