I have an Edgewater SBC that I have installed in front of the IP Office for Connecting SIP trunks. Our data dept is programming the SBC and as of now I don’t see any traffic hitting the IPO when watching Monitor

I used the documentation from Avaya for programming the IPO lines etc.. Will the Edgewater work with the IPO?

I did read that there are license you can buy for a SBC but didn’t know if it is required for the Edgewater?

I was able to get the Sip trunks up without the SBC in front but now have tried everything with the SBC and can’t get it to work.

I’m not real sure about the STUN server either under the lan2 tab. I think it may be something to do with the Nat/firewall setting there but have never attempted

Any help will be appreciated

we deal with some providers here that use these. generally you will have your trunk register to the edgewater. if it is local to the IP Office system your firewall settings should not matter. you would select none on the network topology tab in the trunk and build your trunk as if the edgewater was the SIP server.

jcouch7445: I have many Edgewaters (2900e) out in the field on our SIP Trunks. Like kwing112000 said, the IPO should be registering to the Edgewater. Use the Edgewaters IP Address for the ITSP Domain and Proxy. Enter in the SIP Credentials for the SIP Trunk and you should see it registered. The Edgewater will register to the SIP Provider. We typically use ALG over B2BUA on our Edgewaters, however both methods have worked.

Do you have an IP Route out to the Edgewater?

Thank you for the info. I was trying to register the sip line through the SBC not to it. Makes since.

I don’t have an Ip route to the SBC but I do have one that goes to the Sip provider.

I can ping the Metaswitch from System Status but now it makes more sense. Thanks again I will try and let you guys know

So that worked.

I’m registering to the Edgewater and calls are flowing both ways

Thanks for the help guys
