Using Dreamweaver to send "form data" directly to an e-mail recipient

I am trying to figure out how create a form on my website so customers can request more information. This form will ask for Name, phone #, e-mail address, some other company specific info as well.

Is there a way to create a form that would have required fields and only accept letters and white space for the name feild, and numbers only for the phone # field?

Is there a way to have the info emailed directly to me when they hit the submit button?

Is there a way to have a page pop up that displays there info submitted and would also have a link to direct them back to the main site?

Im self taught but I know with some guidance I can figure this out.

Someone I know uses front page and says creating forms is a snap. Is front page easier to use than Dreamweaver?

NO. u need to use the behaviors of DW. also atake a look at javascript forum...

Yes you can do form field validation using DW. Go to the Macromedia forum and download the "Javascript integration kit for Macromedia Flash MX and MX2004".

Install it as a DREAMWEAVER extension. It is designed to add functionality to both aps in spite of the name.

This will give you a killer set of form field validation behaviors (better than Yaromat) that can be accessed thru the Behaviors panel.

Adding the behaviors is easy but not well documented. You add the individual behaviors (Advanced Form Validations) to each field using the <body> tag. Then when done, you add the Advanced Validate Form behavior to the <form> tag.

Yes you can have the form email you. This will depend on your web hosting service. Contact them to see what they recommend.

I would avoid popups since so many use popup blockers now. Having a page display form results might be a bit advanced for a newbie. You need to study the book that came with your CF.

If you don't plan on doing web work for a living you might find it easier to build simple sites in Front Page. Web professionals don't use FP.

Also how do I install is as an extension.
