Has anyone had experience using the BU-20 bluetooth printer server adapter with a Canon MP500 or any Canon printer?

I bought a bluetooth adapter from Ambicom but have yet to get it to work.

Canon lists the BU-20 product but absolutely no directions on how to use it. When I Google the BU-20, all I get ads and locations where to buy it. Since I already have purchased one USB bluetooth device that does not work, I am leary to buy another even though it comes from Canon.

Thanks,

Daniel

Here is your original thread did you have any luck with that?

Will Canon MP500 support bluetooth printing?

No, those links are ones I had already found by "Googling" bluetooth and Canon MP500.

I am looking for someone who has actually had some experience using their Canon MP500 and bluetooth.

On one forum I visited, my question had 94 visits but zero responses. I guess I am in this alone. I have to say, I am ready to give up.

I bought a Ambicom device that supposedly would work but have been unable to get the USB bluetooth adapters to talk to each other. The computer sends a message, "The printer is offline. Check to see if the printer is turned on or the the cable is hooked up."

I have contacted the support for both Canon and Ambicom and awaiting a reply. Canon sells a bluetooth adapter called BU-20, but supplies no online info for it other than a photo. The reason that I did not buy the BU-20 is that there is only one adapter, and that is for the printer. I will also need a sending adapter for my computer.

Thanks for your help.

Well, I have finally found one of the major problems I am up against. I don't have an Add Bluetooth Device in my control panels.

I went to Microsoft and did a boatload of updates but was unable to find any bluetooth device to download.

I did find ActiveSync but I will have to take my computer to work to take advantage of a quicker download times.

I did find a site that had a download for the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator, but it doesn't lead anywhere but to Microsoft which becomes a deadend.

The support at Canon assures me that their BU-20 USB bluetooth adapter will work, but I am not going to pay another $75 and then find that it doesn't work either.
