This is a general question...
Currently, we are using NTAK09DA DTI/PRI cards, with CH 11 - CH 23 configured as a DCH, and multiplexed using a Digital Link DL100 multiplexer to dedicate our TIE lines from our location to the far end.
My question is, is there a way to configure two basic asterisk boxes, to sit on both ends to interface with the PRI cards and route calls through ethernet or application protocols through the LAN side of the multiplexer?
To either asterisk box, the connection to the meridian 11c box, would be like any other PRI interface... and would in turn, map to a dedicated channel on the other asterisk boxes, effectively acting as a TIE. Is it possible to make the meridian boxes think that they are signalling an a PRI/T1 channel, when in effect they are signalling the asterisk box to contact the other box and signaling the corresponding channel on the asterisk box #2 TDM card that is directly hooked to the meridian box at the far end?
I have read tutorials on how to do this at directly the TDM level at OSI 1, but I am curious if asterisk can be configured to do this at the application protocol level?
