I've been successfully able to integrate Asterisk (specifically Trixbox CE) PBX's conference and fax functionality into my Nortel CS1000M. These are very cool free features of Asterisk. All you need on the Nortel side is NRS, Signaling Server and SIP Trunks and the know how to configure. As for the Trixbox (Asterisk), you just need a PC, the Trixbox CE iSO and lots of patience!

I can't write a FAQ as the config is too specific to my particular system, but I can help anyone who may be stuck in attempting to accomplish the same tasks.

The free conference bridge and desktop faxing is worth its weight in gold. The amount of people I have in a conference is limited only by the amount of SIP trunks I have on my CS1000, which I have 24 of at the moment.

I have done exactly the same with an option 11C about a year ago.
Using Trixbox 2.4, and love it!
If I can be of any help, let me know.
I am also looking for a way to integrate Trixbox with EPI on the Nortel if anyone has seen a solution.
Thanks..

Hello, i'm working in project with meridian option 11c using analog ports(FXO) to connect to asterisk. I see that you've used SIP trunk for linkin 11c and asterisk. What card you need in nortel for using SIP trunk ?

Thanks in advance....

@pronei

Could you write a dumbed down FAQ with the steps to config minus the particulars that are specific to your system?
