Hello all,

I am quiet new to VB, but i want to know if its possible to do animations. I want to produce an aninimation of a page turning in a book when the users click a button called next page. Is this easier to do in VB or should i be considering building the application in Flash?

thanks for thr advice / help

Good question you have to use a timer to activate the next picture... VB isnt the best application for long animation...

Have a look at VB's animation control. Although I suspect it won't be suitable for the interface metaphor that you are talking about.

One of my students came up with a unique work-around. He created an animated .GIF and put a web-browser control on his form. He then loaded the animated .GIF into the browser control, which handled it quite well. May be sort of a round-about way of doing it, but it worked great.

Not at all. This is one of the main techniques for displaying animated gifs in VB.

If your going to do all that you might as well use Windows Media player to play the animation depending on the format... but this again is a round about way
