I'm rolling out Altiris and would like to use ePO to push out the Altiris NS client. If I package the client into an .exe and name it setup.exe with the two McAfee files (forget the names) into a folder and run an upgrade task...would it work??

BTW it runs silently

Haven't tried to distribute anything else using ePO, but I'm pretty sure it won't work. You can try it and see if it does.

Don't think it will work renaming as setup.exe. ePo just configures the task within the console on a computer. It will try to run the .exe, but it will do so within the console's own functionality (run the autoupgrade from an individual machine to better see what I'm getting at).

However, there is a tab within the setup of the AutoUpgrade task for VirusScan that allows you to run a file from the path provided after the upgrade is complete. I haven't tried it, so I don't know if it will run the file without a successfull upgrade or not.

Hope this clears it up a little...
