I need to take a file (our main database) and compare it to another file (Manufacturers Catalog) and have it match the same part numbers and then create to new files. ! File being all that matched and the other file all that do not match so they can be formatted and loaded into our master file.

The main data base can be downloaded by manufacturer to limit the number of records to lookup each time a new manufacturer's file is sent to us.

I would also like to make a master database that we can link to a website to be able to do lookups based on the manufacturer.

I am well acquainted with Excel and its lookup functions and just learning Access. If you can assist me in any way I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Thanks Rollie for the input. If I knew VB I would be asking specific questions about it not about Access. That is why I posted the above message seeking assistance and also the biggest reason I am self taught.

We all have to start somewhere and this is my start.
