Using a pause when forwarding a call.

I have a customer that wants to forward his phone offsite, but needs to be able to add a pause to the dial string. can this be done? If you press the * key,it goes back one space. thanks,

The Comma is used for a pause.

5410s and 5420s. FYI, I tried to put in commas in Manager and it will not accept them under the forwarding tab.

Just push the pause button (second Soft key).

My soft keys are SpDial, Log, Option & Label. On the right side of the screen, I have Done and Dir.

Press speed dial, Click Add, Enter Name, When you enter a number then a pause softkey will appear.

Or you can Edit the speed dial entry. Click speed dial, click edit, select name of speed dial click on number and pause will appear.

I am not trying to do a speed dial! I am trying to have a user forward his extension to an outside number. the outside number needs to have pauses in it. thanks,

Have you tried using short code: *07*9 enter number then add * (stars) (star should be a 1.5 sec pause)

enter the number, then go into the shortcodes and add the ,,, and whatever you want to dial after that to the entry at *Fwrd0 and then try it. This will add the commas automatically when you enter the number, you just have to do it for a new number manually once again.
I am not sure why you want the pauses but I would guess for some LD access code

*FWD0 91231231234=91231231234,,,,1234
the commas will stay and any additional forward number will show up as shortcode *FWD1 and you can then edit it.

Joe, trying to change the fwd code in the forwarding tab did not work. When you try to save it, you get an error saying "No match found for the specified Alias".

What did work was creating a short code w/ the comma in the dial string and then adding the number to send at the end of the dial string. Once this was set up, i just forwarded the phone to the new short code (i.e. 699) Thanks Pure Gold- you da man.
