I have an Okidata dot matrix printer on port 2 of the main cabinet of my Opt 11 system. Is there any way I can replace that printer by using a com port on a laptop via a communication program. I currently print out all calls made outside of the building and then have to manually sort through them. I would like to dump this output, which is now printed after each call is made, to a log file on a laptop and then place it into an excel spreadsheet for sorting. Any help would be great.

You can use Hyperterminal program that comes with Windows to collect the data in a file

hyperterm will work but most of us use procomm, any term emulation software, check the oki setup for settings, usually 8 none and one at 9600, but that oki may be down to 1200... either prt your adans and look for cty as user or setup on the trash oki..
