Using a 8.6 remote agent with ver 9.1

I have recently installed a new server with Veritas 9.1. The old backup server will shortly be decommissioned which runs Backup Exec 8.6 that backs up a couple of winK2 servers which have Ver 8.6 remote agents.

My query is will the existing remote agents work with 9.1 or do I need to have these upgraded to 9.1 as well.

You need to upgrade them to 9.1 - the 8.6 agents are not supported with 9.x

Yes you do, 9.1 media server does not recongnise 8.6 clients. So you have to upgrade your clients as well
