I have a customer who does not want several users to have VM, I have VM disabled for them but some people are transferring calls to the mailbox using direct vm transfer option on the 9508 phone. Anyone know how to disable this feature?

Swap the Phones for 1403. It is not possible with Visual VM.
If you turn off Visual VM then the VM button starts to dial *17 which can be blokked in the users SC *17/barred/

that is not going to work. Also the owner insists on having the message button go to visual voice.

Then swap the phones for 1403 or glue the VM button. No other option.

In VM Pro you can actually disable a voicemail box, but this is not an option for Embedded.

I suggest a 2 stage approach.
1) Instruct staff they they MUST NOT perform direct to VM transfers.

2) Record a greeting on the unwanted mailboxes saying VM is not in use on this extn & save with option 4 (play as a continuous loop) which will prevent messages beeing left.
