Hi All,

I have a system that was recently upgraded from 8.0 to 9.1; went from a V1 to a V2 cabinet. Also moved VMPro from an older sever to a newer R12 server edition. All went smoothly. Until this morning.

System: 9.1.6
VMPro: 9.1.600.2

I have had users reporting to me the system is requiring them to "reset their password". After getting this message system wide, we manually reset the passwords for all the mailboxes. Now the system will not take some of the new passwords that we have entered.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks

Looks like the move between platforms is not being treated the same as an upgrade of the same platform - so some of the newer settings have been enabled.

You need to look at the following in IP Office Manager and press F1 to read the help description of each:

- System | Voicemail | Voicemail Code Complexity.

- File | Advanced | Security Settings | General | IP Office User Details.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks sizbut.

I looked into the two locations and they are correct for the needs of the system. I installed the VMPro on a customer supplied virtual server. I just recieved information that the server did an update last night. Since the update the VMPro client is showing "Backup Voicemail (Live)" in the upper right hand corner. There are no settings enabled for a backup voicemail server. I have restarted the service and then logged out of the client. This will show up as running in the "non-backup" client. After I close the client and open it back up it will show as "Backup Voicemail (Live)" again. The system has two locations connected by SCN. It is only the secondary site that is having the problem with incorrect voicemail passwords. It looks as though a DNS server is also running on the same machine. I have never seen this before any help would be great.

This is what I see in the VM Pro Client

Does each site have its own VM Pro server?

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Had this happen to me but it was in a SCN with the VM server acting as a back up to the main VM server. In the Manager do you have on the VM tab an IP address in the back up field? If so remove this and restart the VM server, that is if you do not want to have a back up VM server. Once restarted the main VM server should work as before. What was happening with me is that the back up was not syncing to the main and when we rebooted the main it failed over to the back up server which did not have the mains configs and acted as a default VM server with no info or programming. The tell tale here is the "backup voicemail live" comment.
