We are using OL 2003 and Exchange 5.5 with an Exchange connection to the server. I recently replaced a workstation with another workstation (both running WinXP and Office 2K3.) When the new Outlook logged on to the
Exchange Server, the user's Contact List was gone. I tried reconnecting the old workstation, but the contact list is still gone. I really need to recover this as the user is my boss, and he is not happy.

Have you looked for .pst and .pab files on the old HD? He also may have been saving his contact list on a different network drive.

We have looked for these files but to no avail... They are not on the local drive or on a network drive... We think they were saved on the E5.5 Server somewhere.. Please advise...
Thanks

Have you tried asking your boss where he/she saved the .pst files. If it's not in the default "C:\documents and settings\username\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook", then he/she must've manually changed the save location.

Did you search in hidden folders as well?

We have searched the location you suggested and the Boss stated that he hasn't changed or moved anything.. Can the Contacts List be located on the Exchange 5.5 Server somewhere?

Hello,

I would try posting something in the Exchange Server 5.5 forum. I'm wondering if you use a 3rd party program, you could get a mailbox from the server and view its contents as you would via OL...

Good luck.

Actually, try this in OL:

Tools > E-mail Accounts...> In the Directory category, selelct "View or change existing directories or address books" >

Are there any MAPI address books? If not, click on add and see if you can connect to the one in the bosses mailbox.

Good luck.
