We Have any of a dozen people that can be put on call each week. We use a short code module and menu to change a user variable each week. THis variable is in a call flow, that is used when a customer calls in, they can select to have the call transferred to the person on call. It works well.

Also in that flow, we send an email out to the group with brief info that they are getting a call. what would be nice is if I was able to put the email address in a user variable and change the email to the email of the person on call at that time. The email function in a call flow doesn't appear to support using a user variable. Anyone have a simple brilliant answer for me to accomplish this?

as a matter of fact i am setting it up that way now to test..... I will let you know :) thanks

that Didnt work. I used the variable $REG{Variable name}

First I set it up with just the email address and it went right through.

Then I set it up with the variable in the address $REG{VariableName}. I added a true false variable test to confirm the variable and I t went through the positive side, so I am pretty confident that it had loaded the correct address. However, it did not send out the email.

Whilst not ideal, just branch the call flow to multiple email actions based on the current value of the variable that you are able to change.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Or have the callout team monitor a group mailbox
only the person on call would be looking at it out of hours anyway
