I have been using the crystal web reports function at our site and this has been working fine for some time. A while ago I started to get an error on two of the clients when you went to run a report saying 'USER SESSION HAS EXPIRED'. The clients were running Windows NT. All other clients were OK. I tested it out on an XP client and the reports ran OK but recently I have had a batch of new XP clients in and the same 'USER SESSION HAS EXPIRED' message apopears on all of them. I have followed the crystal descisions white paper on this error but have had no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas??

I guess this is occuring after you leave ePortfolio dormant for a certain period of time, and then trying to kick something off from it without any type of logout or login between the two times.

In your Crystal Management Console, each of your servers has an idle time variable set - usually to 20 minutes, which is the default. After the idle time limit is violated, your session expires.

Reset the limit to a longer period if you wish - but this will naturally take longer to release dormant threads when someone else is trying to log on.

We are not actually using the ePortfolio part of it. The reports are being created using recrystalise and then we are calling them up through are intranet\extranet using the path of the created file.

eg:- \\report_server\reportname-parameters.asp
