On my NT network I installed some programs with the user belonging to administrator group. In other words I temporarily assigned them to administrator group on server then I booted their workstation. I then installed the program to their workstation(the program called for admin rights). I then tried the program it worked.

I then logged them off completely and went to NT server and switched them back to USER group. Next I rebooted them and went into program. Surprise ! program does not work. This is how i've always done it with NT in the past.
I cant have this user in the admin group because they could do some harm-- any way to work around this ??

THanks

When you say programs do not work are you refused permission to execute the program? If so you may just need to change the permissions for the folder and programs that the application uses to include the 'Users' group. You do this by right clicking ( as Administrator ) on the folders and selecting the Security tab from which you can add/change permissions.
