I have set user rights to give everyone, domain users, users, everybody i can think of access to change system time so that their scripts will update their workstation times. This doesnt seem to have any effect on my users. When the script runs the net time command runs but the users get an error stating that they dont have access to change the time. What am i missing... I have a PDC, BDC and database server with about 150 NT workstations...

thanks

Try using a utility in the Resource Kit called:timesync.
If you want, I can send you the relevent files. Timesync runs as a service, therefore updating the time on the PC even in knowone is logged on.
Mail me and let me know:

I think that when you use User Manager for Domains, and set user rights, you are setting the rights for users who are trying to perform actions on the domain controllers, not necessarily the workstations and member servers. Go to one of the workstations in your network and open User Manager. Check the rights there. Go to one of your member servers (non-DC), open UMfD, pull down the Users menu, choose Select Domain, and type in that server's name. Now look at those user rights and see if the same users you set up have permissions locally to change the system time.

im really hoping to find some way to avoid visiting each of those 150 workstations to change the user permissions. I know there has GOT to be a simple way to do this.

You can put a copy <file> command into a login script, thus forcing all the users copy the tymesinc utility locally to their WS, and after that they can execute it from the local drive, you can delete this line from the system login script.
