I think you have an account with insufficient rights.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I tried running as administrator and still see that the lock sign is on and the buttons are disabled.
Thanks.

Are you trying to edit in the User or the User Right?

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I'm trying to edit under User Rights so changed settings applies to all users.

Log into the security settings of IPO and check settings again as tlpeter already mentioned you are using an account with insufficient rights. It may require you to reset security settings.

Sure thanks. I tried to check the Security settings, (from IPO Manager - File -> Advanced -> Security Settings) but I'm unable to login with the Administrator username and password. Does security settings has its own username and password? and if so please advise how do I reset it. Thanks.

Try security/securitypwd (defaults). If that does not work sounds like you would need to reset the security settings through the DTE port.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Thanks I will check the defaults and if not reset it with DTE.

I have had this in the past when I logged in with a manager of an earlier version software release, is your manager the same version as the IPO software?

Thanks for your tip. I have asked for the Security password from the vendor as this may likely be an access issue. But I will also check the versions if both are the same.
