Hello all.
I'm in the midst of a multi-site SX2K system upgrade this afternoon (Sat 5/20) and have run into a bit of a snag.

First of all we're upgrading from 33.3.2.8 to 34.2.3.8
At the same time we're also changing MFRDs, going from MFRD-23 with Flex Dims to MFRD-21 with factory dims. Yes, we have the new MOSS sheets.

The problem is that on the data restore all of the user-programmed features (including Msg wtg) are being lost EXCEPT the user-programmed forwarding.

So far what we know we've lost is:
Message waiting (no problem, we can refresh that from the VM server)
Headset (defaulting back to disabled)
Handsfree Answerback (defaulting back to disabled)

I'm just afraid come next Monday morning I'm going to get bitten and the phones are going to be ringing with hundreds of user complaints about headsets and paging issues.

Has anyone else had this experience with recent SW upgrades?

I have had the same problem with the 3300 upgrading from ver 6 to ver 7.

Thanks Andy. At least I know its not soomething I did. 3 sites were loaded by OpsMan and 1 we did locally with an RSD. All 4 yielded the same result. Monday is not going to be a good day.

MitelInMyBlood,

How did Monday go, was it as bad as you thought.

Have you also reported this to Mitel?

Andy

According to Mitel this is normal, expected behavior, but not documented anywhere. Apparently the only "user-programmed" features retained across an upgrade (or through a data save/data restore) is the user forwarding. Everything else is lost. This is the same for the SX2K as for the 3300 because both are using the same call control subsystem.

I knew ACD sets auto-logout on a system upgrade, but I did not know that all other user feats (execpt fwd'g) were lost. So I guess we learned something.

Monday actually went well. I was surprised. Apparently my users are more feature-savvy than I gave them credit for.
