Is there a way to setup a user to have more processing priority then other users? Or even a few to have more priority for their jobs running then any of the others in the group?
The renice command can be user for this, but I don't know of a way to setup a user to have more priority by default than anyone else. One way to get around it would be to write a small daemon-like script to watch for that particular users processes and than renice them to a higher priority. Not exactly standard procedure, but it will get the job done.
