User Permissions & ACL issues

I create a new user and assign them to existing groups within the different acl's. The new user is not able to access the db's the way the other user's are able to. In fact, the only way I can get the new user to gain the necesssary access (which is often times, just editor) is to give them separate 'person' entires within the acl for that db. The common denominator seems to the upgrade to 5.0.8...ie, users created after the update cannot gain access if put into existing group memberships.
Something with the way I'm creating the users?
Are the groups somehow 'hardcoded' not to accept any new members?

Most times, there is a delay between the time when a group is modified and when the server takes the modification into account. Generally, it takes a few minutes, up to a quarter of an hour.
Of course, users must quit the database (not Notes, the database), before their access levels can be correctly changed.
That also presumes that the group names have been changed using the Notes functionality (ie, the button in the keyword field), and not typed in manually.
Did you type the names manually ?

Pascal.

I'm pulling them from the Notes functionality.
In fact, I've given this particular user the exact permissions I have in the db and still the problem persists.
The only difference b/t the two users is that one was created prior to the 5.0.8 update.

Could that be group corruption, or ACL corruption ?
I would try to delete the group in the NAB and re-create it.
