I have a user that cannot login to the Domain even after I have reset his password multiple times. His password meets the standard password requirements and as far as I can tell, his account has not been disabled.

By the way, I am an AD newbie.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Does his workstation belong to the domain and is he trying to log into the domain? (login-options-domain not local)

Yes,
The machine he is using to login belongs to the Domain.

Is he part of the Users group on AD?

Can anyone else log onto the domain using his workstation?

Yes, he is part of the UsersGroup and everyone else with identical permissions can log in and have their login scripts processed just fine. I am sure it is something I am missing....just don't know what....

how are the IPs set? also you might have to delete the user then restart both computers and try adding the user again.

I have had to do that a few times... magic how a restart cures cancer

Check to see if the user ID is restricted to login on specific workstations.

I hope you find this post helpful.

When I attempt to login remotely I get the standard error telling me that there must be something wrong with my username ,password, or domain.

When I attempt to login via console I get this error:

"The local policy of this system does not permit you to login interactively"

I added the user to the remote login group....and still no luck.

I had the bright idea of trying remote in via rdesktop on Fedora and it worked. I went back to windows to attempt another remote session and again met with failure.

I ran secpol.msc and entered the user to be allowed to login via terminal services....it still does not work.

Any idea ?
