Hi,

I'm new to IP office and am still learning the ropes. Two of my users continually remove them selves from the a hunt group by accident. Is there a way to lock the hunt group so this cannot happen? I guess they are probably hitting shortcodes to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jim

How do they do this "accidently?"

There isn't even a built in shortcode for HuntGroupDisable/Enable and even if you create one, you have to designate what hunt group is being enabled and disabled.

Someone else install the system and created the short code?

If there's a shortcode in there and you don't need it, delete it.

It'll look like this:

Code: *80 (the shortcode that was created)
Telephone number: 200 (the group the person is getting disabled from.)
Feature: HuntGroupEnable or Disable... depending.

If you want to keep the Shortcode, but want to disable these particular users from using them, just create a similar USER shortcode with a different feature. User shortcodes override system shortcodes.

So give the user a *80 (going by my example) but have the feature something like "busy" so when they dial it, they just get a busy signal.

Are they using Phone Manager? I have seen users change their status using Phone Manager and it disables them from the hunt group. Also, what release are you running?

Hi, thank you both for your advice. I'm using version 4.1. The are loads of shortcodes they i could clear up, but huntgroup disable isn't one of them. They do both use phone manager but they aren't deliberately changing their status. Does hitting busy not available disable the user in the group?

Thanks again.

In phone manager they are probably pressing the 'DEL' key on their keyboard. I've run into this alot with my end users. The DEL key inables a call wrapup. This disables them from the huntgroup. I know of no way to disable this behavior. I have heard that (possibly in the PM Pro) that you can change the shortcut keys for those options, but I am not sure. I'm only using PM Lite.

Phone Manager V 2.1 will Take the usere out of group is they go into preferences
PM V2.1.10 will cure this porblem but it is not on the V2.1.10 usere CD, you will have to ask your distriobuter to get it for you.

IP Guru , you mean all they have to do is go into their preferences? this in lite and pro?

Soopa Doopa Intergalactic IP Office installation mechanic and configuration corruptor from way back.

Yip that is about the size of it
It was listed as a bug fiix in the V2.1.10 uscer CD, but they got it wrong!

a patch to V2.1.10 is avialable if req

(FTP:ipguru.no-ip.info if your distributer has not heard of it)

Thanks for your help guys. I'll try this installing the patch.

Mallgood.

concerning the "DEL" key
from PM 2.0 you can change te del-key in the register even for a PM-Lite.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Avaya / IP400 / PhoneManager / ShortCut

DWORD “BusyWrapUp1” put the value to zero (no action connected)

This will solve the DEL problem.

Thank you for that one! I've finally gotten all my monkeys^H^H^H^H^H^H^Husers trained to not press DEL in the phone manager. But that will be good for the new ones that come in.
